Q: I get an error message saying that the ionCube Loader is not installed. What should I do?

A: Most web hosting companies providing PHP enabled hosting accounts also support the free ionCube Loader by default. However, if your hosting provider does not, you can ask them to install the ionCube loader for you. Or, you may be able to install it yourself if your web host allows you to create your own php.ini file for your hosting account. For more information on installing the free ionCube loader yourself, please visit:

Q: When I try to run the installation script (eta.install.php), I get an error message. What's wrong?

A: This is most likely due to incorrect permissions settings on the db_eta subfolder. Using your FTP program or your cPanel File Manager, set the permissions for the db_eta subfolder to 777 and try again.

Q: A customer has contacted me saying he has paid for a text ad but the system is still showing his order as pending. What can I do?

A: After verifying that your customer made a valid purchase, you can manually set the status of his text ad to ACTIVE. To do this, just click the "Text Ads" link in the System Administration menu. Then click the "Pending" link in the sub-menu. This will filter the list of ads down to just those that are waiting for payment notification from PayPal. Click the "View/Edit" link next to the customer's text ad to bring up the "Text Ad Details" screen. Select ACTIVE from the "New Status" selection box. Then click the "Save changes" button. And that should do it. The ad will begin running on your system immediately.

Q: I've upgraded from EasyTextAds Lite, but when I log in to the admin page I don't see the full version menu items or advanced settings. What's wrong?

A: This can happen if your FTP program does not overwrite the EasyTextAds Lite PHP files with the full version PHP files. To remedy this, delete all the PHP files (files ending in ".php") from your EasyTextAds installation folder then re-upload all the PHP files from the full version software distribution package.

Q: My customers report that they are getting an "Invalid Transaction" message after making their payments through PayPal or that they are not being sent to the thank you page. Why does this happen?

A: It sounds like you have your PayPal acccount set up with auto return turned on. EasyTextAds requires that you turn off the auto return feature in your PayPal account. To do this, log in to your PayPal account. Click "Profile" under the "My Account" tab. Then click "Website Payment Preferences" under Selling Preferences. Then click the "Off" radio button next to Auto Return and set the Return URL to blank. Then click the "Save" button at the bottom of the form to save your changes.

Q: I'm getting all kinds of strange error messages when I run the installation utility or when I try to log in to the System Administration area. HELP!

A: The EasyTextAds system includes several PHP files (files ending with the extention ".php"). These are ASCII text files that must be uploaded to your web hosting account using the ASCII text transfer type. Some FTP programs will upload PHP files using the Binary file transfer type. This will corrupt the EasyTextAds system files and cause strange error messages to be displayed. The solution is to set your FTP program to use the ASCII text transfer type (instead of Binary or Auto; consult the documentation for your FTP program to determine how to change this setting). Then, upload the EasyTextAds PHP files again. If you are prompted to replace existing files, just click "Yes" or "OK" to allow your FTP program to replace the files on your server.

Q: I've forgotten my password for the System Administration area. Is there a way to retrieve it?

A: At the bottom of the system administration login screen, you'll see a prompt that says "Forget your password?" and a place to enter your administrative email address. Just enter the email address you set as the administrative email address on the Security screen and click the "Get Password" button. EasyTextAds will send you username and password to you by email.

Q: I can't get your script to work.

A: If you are not able to install EasyTextAds yourself, I offer script installation service for a fee. Visit the support desk at http://www.easytextads.com/support/ and use the contact form to request script installation service on your domain. Be sure to include your REAL email address and the domain name you would like EasyTextAds set up on. I or one of my staff will contact you directly to get started.

Q: How do I get the ads to show up on my website?

A: You will need to edit the HTML code of each web page where you want your ads to be displayed. Use the "Get Code" menu option in the System Administration area to create the necessary Javascript and then copy-and-paste the Javascript into your HTML web page. If you have a blog, you should paste the Javascript into your blog template so that you don't have to edit every page of your blog.

Q: I don't know how to edit HTML. How do I put the Javascript on my webpages?

A: In order to put the EasyTextAds Javascript code in your web page, you will need to understand how to work with HTML web pages. If you are not familiar with HTML editing, you can get up to speed quickly with online training. I recommend Fred Black's free online course at http://www.WebsiteTrainingOnline.com.

Q: I lost my copy of EasyTextAds. Can you send me a new download link?

A: You may request a new download link using the "Contact Us" support request form at http://www.easytextads.com/support/. Make sure to include your REAL name and email address as well as your ClickBank or PayPal receipt number. The link replacement fee is $15.00 USD and is payable prior to generating a new link. Once you submit your request, I or one of my staff will contact you to collect the fee and generate your replacement link.
